Lionville Community Church

Hello,

And thank you for visiting our website.  I am Matthew Macking, the new pastor of Lionville Community Church.  I have recently graduated from Philadelphia Biblical University with a degree in Bible as well as Pastoral Ministry after studying in their Pastoral Ministry program.  I have plans to further my education in pursuit of a Master's degree in the fields of Theology, Education, and potentially a master's of Divinity.  This desire is secondary for the time being as I have currently been called to serve as a shepherd for God's purposes at LCC.

I have a great desire to be an example to those of whom I am called to shepherd by way of living out the scriptures as wholly and literally as possible.  My desire is to be more Christ-like each day as the Scripture commands, while at the same time helping others become more Christ-like in their lives.

I have a burden for the youth of our country.  I served at Pocono Mountain Bible Conference, an overnight Christian camp in Gouldsboro PA, for four years.  I have served as a lifeguard, a counselor for two years, and my final year as the Program Director.  I have also fulfilled the role of Youth Pastor at various churches throughout my preparation at PBU.

I believe that the church today fails to create and maintain meaningful relationships with those in the community in which they minister.  My vision for Lionville is to create and maintain relationships akin to the relationship between Christ and his disciples. I believe that the only way this can be accomplished is if we truly understand those whom we minister to.

In my preaching I like to include musical references as I view music to be an important part of the Christian life.  There are a variety of genre's of music that can be just as worshipful as any others.  I personally enjoy a wide range of genres from Praise and Worship, Contemporary Christian to Christian Metal and Christian Hip/Hop or Christian Rap.  All of these musical styles can be utilized as means of worship when the lyrics are glorifying to God and scripturally reflective.  Music is not only an emotional experience but also a focused intellectual experience placing great importance on the lyrics and their message.

I find it important to utilize scripture in the message given, as well as accurate illustrations of the message.  Also, any  message that is free of application is a message that tends to fall on deaf ears.  I find it important to challenge myself, and those listening to the message to live what they hear in each message, for if your faith is not lived, it accomplishes little to nothing in terms of communicating Christ to the secular world.

I look forward to meeting you, and getting to know each other as we grow closer to the Lord each day as brothers and sisters in Christ.  No matter if we are Primitive Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian etc, as long as we are rooted in the Gospel we serve the same purpose, which is to further God's Kingdom by living as mirrors of His Son's example and sacrifice.

Thanks you for your time,

Pastor Matt
